I wondered whether people would be interested in more photos of China/Hong Kong, but was told 'the more the merrier' so that's my excuse Sadly we didn't have a very good camera at that time so don't expect pictures like Jayhawk's or Zen's, but Paint Shop Pro has overcome some of the inadequacies
We went for a one-day visit to Zhung-Shan county in China in 1981 when tourism was in its infancy. You had to go on an official tour in a coach-party and all foreigners had to be out of the country by 5.00pm on pain of imprisonment. The visit was very regimented and time-constrained but also fascinating.
Whilst there, we visited a town, a children's nursery, a 'country club' and a farming commune. The first photos are from there .. some of the things we saw probably aren't that much different from ancient times.
