Probably the wrong place for this, but whatever...
Last month I had to get a new laptop (refurbished) because the old one died when the cooling system failed and the hard drive fried. I've got everything backed up in several different places, so no problems there.
But... Zeus / Poseidon is so old that the new OS won't allow it to be installed or run, so I guess my days of playing with the Greeks are over.
I have had fun with it over the past 18+ years... darned if I know how many adventures I created, and some have gone on to be memorable - my original "Tributaries", which somebody, I can't remember who, called "the benchmark test of player abilities", and my "Ladie's Night" series which skirted the limits of allowable in the game.
Overall it's been fun, I met plenty of great people and dedicated players (as well as a few trolls), but the time has come to say farewell to Zeus. I am keeping the map card that came with the original game just for giggles, but everything else is being tossed (dropping it off at a place that accepts old games just in case somebody is interested).
It's been fun, thanks for the memories, and darn, I'm gonna miss Aphrodite and Athena stalking through a city looking for an open bar...
