It looks like I won't have enough time to finish my complete Zeus playthrough, but I managed to refresh few campaigns last week.
Perseus and Medusa - this one kicks ass. Good pace, pleasant early game, interesting Calydon colony - needs slightly different approach and mixes things up a bit. Argos has potential to be a huge and very independent city, all basic resources are easily gathered and marble production makes temple erecting a walk in the park. Perseus is my favorite hero from pre-Trojan War era, another bonus. Oh, and Miletos mission is very rewarding!
The Voyages of Jason - I think it has similar structure to PaM, but worse execution. I don't really like its plot: summon Heracles to help Theseus, summon Theseus to reveal some truth, summon Jason for ONE episode to have any connection to Golden Fleece myth at all (barring your main location). Iolcus is too narrow to really shine, serious planning in advance is required. On the other hand, no taxes for first ~3 missions, as well as poor aesthetics for most of campaign, turned out to be somewhat challenging. I had to completely change my housing blocks in early game. Kerkira colony was sweet and was easily the best moment. All in all, ok campaign, has some flaws, but still playable.
Peloponnesian War - Really liked that one. My goal was to support 40 elite houses and 4 temples in the endgame and build walls around whole town. In order to do that, planning in advance is crucial. But once you do that, rewards are great! It has probably the best battles in whole game, nice, because Spartan firepower is second to none. More resources would be neat, but well, that way it's more challenging. On a sidenote: Ithaca colony was very interesting, despite glaring anachronisms. Small islets drove me crazy at firsts, but then I thought: "stick to objectives, don't build full army" and it changed my approach. Very memorable campaign.
The rest - I haven't played them in 10 years, but I remember that Trojan War had one REALLY difficult episode towards the end. I think it was colony with little/no supplies and constant raiding. In order to ease this situation we needed to support elites and build a temple: almost impossible with those circumstances. Apart from that mission, it was as good as Peloponnesian War and I liked its plot the most. Very nice atmosphere.
I can't comment on Poseidon campaigns because I heaven't played them!
But thanks for your replies![This message has been edited by thi4f (edited 06-01-2015 @ 05:46 PM).]
