Your August Sirs (correct usage for a few more days),
Olivia: You are way too literal, or had too much English forced upon you, or you have your system's sound turned off and can not hear that little guy Yee, in the background, yelling "I did not win again!"

My mother once had a Chinese pug named Yee, so when we called her we said---Here, Yee. Here, Yee! Stupid dog never did come when you we called.

A pug is a breed of small lap dog with a sort of squashed up face. They look a bit like mythical Chinese dogs. Sorry, DX, I'm not very good at describing

Are they those very furry types, with extremely long 'hair'? I think I have an idea of what it is... Thanks anyway, Gill!

Thanks, Claudia!
I'll use them during French lessons, instead of always saying: un chien!

I'm afraid my system sound is not equipped for messages from Yee. He'll just have to post on the forums like the rest of us.
Those wrinkly dogs are hilarious. I think people breed them for their humor value.

Then there was the English bull dog my mother once owned---she responded quite well to 'I say, would you mind parking your bum? There a good doggie. Fancy a nice little snacky?'
Personally, I prefer cats. You never own a cat, it just allows you feed it and rub its belly.
