Please do not press Refresh in a thread or it will crash...
Also, my own comments: There's no point in refreshing the thread or going in so often just to see if there's a new post and being the first reply to it, so if it's so, don't do it. Da Caesar

You're pardoned
Hit CTRL+F5 on your IE browser, or click the little page icon with the two arrow from the tool bar.

Er...I've pressed refresh in posts loads for ages, and a post has never crashed on me yet (apart from the infamous all alone) so do we have a new problem?

I think it's a new improvemnt on the forum. Now you do not need to hit the back button on your browser to get back. You need to hit the llink to go somewhere or it will not work. It'll automatically update the page once you hit the link. Am I right?

huh? you lost me there Thanh
and btw, isn't that a really attractive thing for a wanna be hacker who visits these forums? think about it, if all he has to do to crash every thread in the forums is press Refresh while in the actual thread... well, it's too easy!
btw, this is my post number 333 hehehe

OK it's a little more complex than just hitting refresh How it works is on the popular threads like the recovery room or some story lines several people hold the thread open at the same time. They can post quicker by hitting refresh. The more people holding the page open and using refresh the quicker it will crash a thread Thus not a very big help to a hacker We don't know the magic number to cause the crash only what causes it The request is don't hold posts open and hit refresh
If you just re-select the page, is that just as bad, or is it ok? I mean if you're on, say, page six of a thread, and you click on the 6 again? Or do we have to close it down and go back to the forum list each time...?

Simplest way:
Go back to the main page for the respective forum i.e. the page where you can select threads and see: If the post count has increased since you just saw, then someone has posted, and you can go and reply. I don't know if hitting the page button works too... Da Caesar
