Hi everyone. I could desperately use some help. I need step by step instructions on how to set up trade routes. I am using Pharaoh with the Cleopatra extension and I have the latest version of the game. Someone told me to look at a document which is in the game directory or something but I looked at it and I still cannot figure out how to make trade routes.

I've only fooled around a bit with the mission editor, but I think I can follow the Mission Editor Guide and show the basics.

In the mission editor, I loaded the Default map, created a new map of small size, put in some water and meadow, and set the entry, exit, river entry, river exit, and a couple of invasion points. (If I was making a real mission, I'd make a list of all the trade cities and their properties, but this is just a simple demo so I won't.) I went to the Kingdom Map.

I defined our city (Nubt) by clicking Edit Object, right-clicking on the city Nubt, and clicking on Foreign city and changing it to "Our city". I clicked on three of the empty boxes and added pomegranates, clay, and flax to the objects it could make.

I defined a trade partner (Buhen) by right-clicking on Buhen and clicking on Foreign city and changing it to "Egyptian Trade City". I clicked on an empty Buys box and added pottery to the objects it would buy. I clicked on Demand and changed barley and beer to High. I clicked on Route and set it to 1. I clicked on Cost and set it to 800.

I added a trade route (to Buhen) by clicking Add Route and leaving the route number alone (since it was already set to 1, Buhen's route number). I clicked Land trade route to change it to "Sea trade route". I clicked on Buhen and a bunch of points along the river ending at Nubt, then right-clicked to set the route.

I hit OK to return to the region view, saved the map with a name other than Default, and exited the map builder. I went to Custom Missions and played the map for a little while.
