Hi Folks,

I'm in Kebet, and I've just started building my first Obelisk. I built a Carpenters' Guild, supplied it with wood, and waited for the carpenter to walk to the monument. I looked away for a while, but when I looked back, there was no scaffold piece built.

I didn't build a Stonemasons' Guild because I figured there was no need for one until the scaffold was fully built. But does the lack of a Stonemasons' Guild mean the carpenter won't do anything except throw away the wood he brought with him to the monument? In other words, is a Stonemasons' Guild absolutely necessary at the beginning?

I think they both have to be present to start work on the obelisk. Make sure there is a clear, unblocked by buildings or houses, path to the obelisk for the workers to access it (ask me how I know this!).

I withdraw my question. I took another look at the obelisk a bit later and the scaffold piece was there. I guess it took a little time to become visible.

A second carpenter also built a piece. Looking at the amount of wood in the guildhouse itself plus the nearby Storage Yard, nothing's missing.
