Hi guys! My name's Gleb, I am what they call these days an independent game developer, and for some time I have been making a city-building game. It goes pretty steadily, in fact a few weeks ago I was joined by an artist, who will put some graphics around my code. It turned out though, that we have somewhat differing outlooks on the visual style to stick to, at which point we would be very glad to hear opinions from people who played and enjoyed this kind of games, that is, you.

The game is not in a historical setting, actually it is a sort of sci-fi story about what would robots do after their creators have gone extinct. So we build cities populated by robots here. Although I love isometric games and played a lot of them, I really hate when buildings obscure what is going on behind them, and so I sacrificed the visual appeal of the isometric projection in favour of clarity of top-down view.

Still there is some wiggling room in how to draw the buildings themselves. We produced three building sketches, each one using a different projection for the building, and I would be really grateful, if some of you guys commented on which one you find more appropriate or appealing. Hopefully that will help us to make a right decision. Thank you!

Here are the variants we came with:

Option 1:

Option 2:

Full-size: [PNG, (828.70 KB)]

Option 3:

Full-size: [PNG, (842.52 KB)]

Thank you all again and greetings from the land of Oz!
